Hidden and Revealed
I am interested in the way individuals are perceived by those around them, and the image that we consciously attempt to project to the outside world. In everyday interactions there exists a battle between the identities that we have carefully and meticulously constructed versus our inescapable selves. With the passage of time, how are our personalities affected? There are the facets of our characters that we constantly work hard to hide, while others we project with little control or even awareness. My work questions whether we can actually fool ourselves and others with our efforts at concealment or if we are forever at the mercy of our inherent personalities.
